The Black Movement

     Crayola Box Chronicles wk-8

This week out of the box color is black.

This is the unanimous go to color is this weeks can’t live without, safety net color.

Black is a visually slimming color for clothing and like other dark colors, appears to shrink you in size. Our go to when all else fails the one color no matter what is always there and never lets you down. I like many have that little black dress on standby, just in case. When you’re going out with friends or an event, or how about that first date, when you don’t know what to wear, we go for the black dress, why?

Black is a mysterious color that represents strength, seriousness, power, and authority. So it’s only natural that we gravitate to this color for how it makes you feel when you wear this color. I myself, as much as I love wearing colors enjoy mixing up black to stand as the background color instead of the main attraction.

How many of you can’t seem to stray too far from black?

How many of you make black the last color you will wear?

Are you like most; once you go black you never go back?

I know that we go back and forth on what looks good on us. We always know that black is the standard color of choice, however I urge you today the next time that hand reaches in the closet for that black dress go dramatic with color to compliment it. And as Always, stop by Urban Abstract and have fun throwing a little color with that black outfit. Until we chat again my beauties, see you next week. :)

I am very grateful to have the opportunity to share my love of creating my designs for you. With an education in Interior Design, 2010 from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Business Management and Marketing, 1988, Professional Business School, I have always wanted to create a business that would be unlike any other business in how the freedom to create would be limitless. Working in design for two of the best metropolitan cities and furniture design showrooms of Chicago and Dallas, gave me great insight and exposure into the culture, fashion and design. I valued the opportunities and learning experiences, which has afforded me the opportunity to love, study, and work in a career that’s exciting and meaningful. I enjoy the opportunity to be a part of creating designs that will be memorable in the hearts, who seek my service for years to come. Sincerely, Velva
